Almond Blossom brings community to our house as well as heading out into the Chico community. Almond Blossom has a house physician that will oversee the care of your loved one if necessary. This relationship was formed when the doctor placed a loved one at Almond Blossom. House calls are sometimes honored for the convenience of our residents.
At Almond Blossom Senior care, we take great pride in providing a community located in a safe, family oriented neighborhood that feels like home because it is one!!! Our Organic Community garden is tended by the students of Emma Wilson Elementary School and used in the cooking of what we like to call “Real Food” year round.
The backyard at Almond Blossom with its shaded patio, pathways, year round flora, and one of the largest wind chimes in Northern California invites you to relax and feel at home.
The students of California State University, Chico’s Community Action Volunteers in Education (CAVE) provide companionship, programming, group and one on one connected interactions with our residents. We have a certified nutritionist that volunteers her time by sharing her beautiful Labs, and occasionally cooking for our residents. If you are interested in volunteering at Almond Blossom, you will find it very enriching to spend time with our residents, their families and our staff. Please call if you are interested!!!
Heading out into the Chico Community is a passion we share with our residents. At Bidwell Municipal Park we enjoy picnics under some of the most beautiful Valley Oak Trees in the world. Other community outings include the movie theatre, annual Christmas light tour and neighborhood caroling.
As part of Almond Blossom’s continued goal to enrich the lives of our residents, we were honored to have one of our residents the recipient of the North Valley Community Foundation’s Wish of a Lifetime. The goal of A Wish of a Lifetime Foundation is to give seniors of our community a sense of purpose and the possibility that dreams still can come true. Please click on the link to their website above to read more about the program and make a donation if possible.
Finally, connection with our residents and their families does not end once a resident is no longer living with us. At Almond Blossom we call this Continued Care. As an example, we currently host a Bible study group that includes family members of a past resident. This Continued Care is extended to other events such as the Spring Fling, Fall Festival and Holiday Community Open House all held annually.
